“Incontreremo Maurizio e Giorgio Galimberti, insieme; padre e figlio uniti dalla medesima passione e professione: la fotografia. L’arte dello scatto raramente ha accomunato esplicitamente il genitore con il proprio erede, come invece è successo in altri ambiti: letteratura (Monaldo e Giacomo Leopardi), musica (Leopold e Wolfgang Mozart o più recentemente Fabrizio e Cristiano De André). Lì però emergevano atteggiamenti educativi, comportamentali, di studio, che poco hanno a che fare con la fotografia, maggiormente libera e trasversale: individuale, potremmo dire, relazionale per quanto attiene alla prossimità. Ne parleremo con in due autori, che comunque racconteranno, mostrandoli, i loro lavori: il mondo Polaroid, da un lato, ‘L’architettura umana’ dall’altro. La riflessione, però, riguarda noi tutti, perché spesso la fotografia risulta ereditata o almeno suggerita da un’altra persona. E lì, oltre ai genitori, saltano fuori lo zio compiacente o l’amico appassionato a sua volta. Ecco che le domande vagano altrove, alle fonti d’ispirazione, agli aiuti, alla scoperta occasionale di uno strumento da possedere appieno. Potremo parlarne a lungo, con Maurizio e Giorgio, due interpreti differenti per età, generazione, utilizzo dello strumento, accomunati però dalla stessa passione. Verranno messi a confronto, entrambi, per la prima volta e cercheremo di sapere tutto, anche ciò che non è stato mai detto. Del resto, la fotografia è sempre un mistero da svelare.”

“We will meet Maurizio and Giorgio Galimberti, together; father and son united by the same passion and profession: photography. The art of the lens has rarely explicitly linked a parent to their heir in the way we have seen in other fields: literature (Monaldo and Giacomo Leopardi), music (Leopold and Wolfgang Mozart or, more recently, Fabrizio and Cristiano De André). In those cases, however, what emerged were educational, behavioral, and academic approaches that have little to do with photography, which is inherently more free and transversal: individual, we might say, and relational in terms of proximity. We will discuss this with the two authors, who will nevertheless showcase and talk about their work: the Polaroid world on one side, and “Human Architecture” on the other. This reflection, however, concerns us all, because photography is often inherited or at least suggested by someone else. And there, alongside parents, a complicit uncle or an equally passionate friend often enters the frame. Thus, the questions wander elsewhere—to the sources of inspiration, the helping hands, the accidental discovery of an instrument to be fully mastered. We will have plenty to talk about with Maurizio and Giorgio, two artists differing in age, generation, and use of the medium, yet united by the same passion. They will be brought together for a head-to-head discussion for the very first time, and we will try to uncover everything, even what has never been said. After all, photography is always a mystery waiting to be revealed.”
